GCF in Saint Kitts & Nevis: Harnessing geothermal energy

04 Nov 2025 / A long-awaited geothermal project – with the potential to power the Caribbean region with clean energy – moves forward in St. Kitts and Nevis. With the support of the Green Climate Fund (GCF), in partnership with the government and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Sustainable Energy Facility for the Eastern Caribbean will strengthen national institutions and build capacity to develop geothermal energy in the region.

Saint Kitts and Nevis commits to lead on scaled-up climate action

21 Mar 2025 / The Government of Saint Kitts and Nevis today committed to lead regional efforts to accelerate climate ambitions in the Caribbean with a focus on energy, water, and food security. The undertaking was made at the closing of the Green Climate Fund (GCF)-hosted ‘Regional Dialogue with the Caribbean Towards a Resilient Caribbean: Advancing Regional Solutions for Climate Action, Sustainable Growth and Inclusive Development’, which was held in Saint Kitts and Nevis.

GCF talks renewable energy with Alliance of Small Island States
