GCF in Saint Kitts & Nevis: Harnessing geothermal energy

A long-awaited geothermal project – with the potential to power the Caribbean region with clean energy – moves forward in St. Kitts and Nevis. With the support of the Green Climate Fund (GCF), in partnership with the government and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Sustainable Energy Facility for the Eastern Caribbean will strengthen national institutions and build capacity to develop geothermal energy in the region. GCF, as the world's climate fund for developing countries, is delivering capital at scale to mitigate exploration and other risks and unlock private sector investment in geothermal energy.
