Protecting against fraudulent communications and online scams

Learn how to identify official Green Climate Fund (GCF) communications and protect yourself from fraudulent emails, websites, and impersonation attempts.
Due to increased cybersecurity and impersonation risks, the Green Climate Fund (GCF) advises all stakeholders, partners and members of the public to remain vigilant against potential fraudulent communications, websites, and email addresses that may falsely claim, suggest, or imply an association with GCF.
Please note the following:
- The official GCF website is https://www.greenclimate.fund/
- Official communication from GCF will only be conducted through email addresses ending in @gcfund.org.
- GCF does not conduct official funding, grant, accreditation, recruitment, procurement, or stakeholder engagement processes outside its approved institutional channels and procedures.
Any communication suggesting that GCF offers public courses, paid training, certificates, or similar programmes should be treated with caution and verified through official GCF channels.
Individuals should also exercise caution regarding emails or messages offering grants, funding, compensation, partnerships, employment opportunities, or other benefits purportedly on behalf of GCF. Such communications may feature the GCF logo or claim to be sent by GCF representatives or affiliated entities. These fraudulent offers are not associated with GCF or any of its personnel and are often intended to obtain payments, banking details, personal information, or other sensitive data.
GCF will never request personal banking information, require personal payments or fees, or ask individuals to disclose private financial information through unsolicited communications.
Communications sent from non-GCF domains (such as gmail.com, hotmail.com, or similar addresses), as well as those containing unusual requests, poor grammar, spelling errors, or suspicious links, should be treated with extreme caution.
Individuals are advised not to respond to suspicious communications, provide personal information, click on unverified links, make payments, or engage with individuals or websites claiming to represent GCF unless the communication has been verified through official GCF channels.
For any inquiries or to verify the authenticity of any communication, please contact GCF at info@gcfund.org.
GCF reserves all rights in relation to any unauthorised use of its name, logo, branding, identity, or institutional information.
