Empowering Direct Access workshop
29 May – 1 June 2018, Songdo, Republic of Korea
GCF’s second Empowering Direct Access workshop will focus on supporting the Fund’s Direct Access Entities (DAEs) – national and regional entities nominated for accreditation to the GCF by National Designated Authorities.
The workshop aims to provide capacity strengthening support on programming focused on early business development, better understanding of financial instruments, and developing high quality projects or programmes based on priorities of the respective countries.
The workshop will focus on readiness support opportunities such as the Project Preparation Facility, specific Requests for Proposals such as Enhancing Direct Access pilot and Mobilizing Funding at Scale and the Simplified Approval Process (SAP). It will also address updates to GCF policies and procedures.
Through plenary and breakout sessions, the workshop will allow for best practices and lessons learnt from funding proposals to be drawn through a peer-to-peer approach and will expand to addressing private sector needs and opportunities for fund mobilisation and collaboration with diverse partners. This event will provide the opportunity for DAEs and NDAs/Focal Points to directly engage with the GCF Secretariat to address standing queries about different GCF related requirements with the view to further advancing matters related to accreditation, programming and funding proposals in the pipeline.
