  • Type International
  • Date of accreditation 11 Nov 2020

Camco operates as a climate and impact fund manager, bringing over 30 years of experience in sustainable finance and on-the-ground value generation. With a track record of supporting over 200 projects across 30 countries, Camco Management Limited, a private international access entity based in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, was established in 2015 as a subsidiary of RedT Energy plc (formerly Camco Clean Energy plc) and is now independent.

Camco leverages its on-the-ground experience and financial expertise to originate, develop, finance, and implement renewable energy and electrification projects globally. As a partner of the Green Climate Fund, Camco provides financial solutions and management services, contributing to renewable energy development and climate finance deployment.

Together with GCF, Camco intends to pursue the “GeoFutures Facility project,” which aims to establish and run a risk mitigation instrument to crowd in private sector investment for geothermal power in East Africa. In order to achieve a paradigm shift towards a low-carbon and climate-resilient development pathway, Camco aims to maximize the engagement with private sector entities to finance innovative projects. In addition, it intends to engage with both public and private financial institutions to de-risk renewable projects to ensure bankability.
