Fondo Mexicano para la Conservación de la Naturaleza A.C. (FMCN) is a national entity based in Mexico with a mission to provide strategic technical and financial support to conserve Mexico’s natural heritage. Established in 1994, FMCN has more than 24 years of experience in financing climate change adaptation and mitigation actions in Mexico by catalysing resource mobilization, building partnerships to engage various actors and sectors and searching for innovative conservation mechanisms. As an environmental fund, the applicant has focused on biodiversity conservation, marine and coastal protected areas, forest conservation, sustainable agriculture, deforestation and water resource management and local community development.
