Project Preparation Facility - Process

Entities accredited to the GCF, as well as applicants under the Project Specific Assessment Approach (PSAA), are eligible to request PPF support. A project Concept Note must be submitted along with a PPF application and supporting documentation. 

PPF applications must provide sufficient justification of the AE or PSAA applicant’s need for funding from the GCF.

GCF has launched a newly digitised application form for Project Preparation Facility (PPF) applications, which will streamline the submission of applications and required documentation, enabling faster screening and review. From 1 July 2026, GCF Accredited Entities and PSAA Applicants can access the digitised PPF application form via the GCF Partner Portal (GPP). Applications already under review will continue to be processed under the legacy route. All new applications submitted on or after 1 July 2026 will be required to be prepared and submitted exclusively through GPP.
