Internship programme

Careers

The programme

The Green Climate Fund internship programme offers students and recent graduates the opportunity to gain practical experience while contributing to GCF’s work. We welcome applications from candidates of all nationalities and particularly encourage qualified candidates from developing countries to apply. We value diversity and welcome candidates from a wide range of professional, academic, and cultural backgrounds.

The programme is designed for talented and motivated individuals with academic or professional experience relevant to GCF’s work. Interns gain first-hand exposure to the Fund’s operations while receiving guidance, learning opportunities, and practical experience in a multicultural and international working environment. Interns receive a monthly stipend of USD 1,600 and comprehensive worldwide health insurance coverage at no cost.

Internships are initially offered for six months, with the possibility of a further six-month extension, subject to a performance review. All interns are based at GCF headquarters in Songdo, Incheon City, Republic of Korea. GCF provides visa support to interns who require a visa to undertake their internship in the Republic of Korea. Internationally recruited interns are also provided with round-trip airfare.

To be eligible for an internship, candidates must:

  • Be enrolled in a Master’s or PhD programme prior to the internship assignment, or be a recent graduate;
  • Be engaged or recently engaged in academic study in a field directly related to the Fund's work;
  • Possess an excellent command of English.
