The Green Climate Fund (the “Fund”) was established in December 2010 with the purpose of making a significant and ambitious contribution to the global efforts towards attaining the goals set by the international community to combat climate change. In the context of sustainable development, the Fund will promote a paradigm shift towards low-emission and climate-resilient development pathways by providing support to developing countries to limit or reduce their greenhouse gas emissions and to adapt to the impacts of climate change.

Apart from several other meetings that may be hosted in the year, the Fund will be holding its Board Meetings 2-3 times per year in Songdo at the headquarters of the Green Climate Fund Secretariat (hereafter the “Secretariat”). The number of participants is to be approximately 400 to 450 people. The forthcoming one will be the 23rd Board Meeting (B23) that is scheduled on 6-8 July 2019.

The Board meeting will take place over five (5) days including two (2) days of preparatory meetings and three (3) days of the official Board Meeting itself.

The Fund invites qualified selected hotels to submit their technical and financial proposals to provide catering services and meeting facilities to the Secretariat over a period of 24 months, including the 23rd Meeting of the GCF Board at GCF Headquarters located in Songdo, Korea and other meetings that may be held in Songdo in 2019-2021. The Fund will therefore conclude a 24-month contract (Long Term Agreement – LTA) with the successful bidder to provide catering services and meeting facilities to the Fund at fixed unit rates, as required.

This RFP is restricted to hotels in Songdo only, because of the technical requirements.
