The Green Climate Fund (GCF) is seeking information on how an interested vendor could help the fund increase its effectiveness and efficiency making the best use of a GCF Taxonomy and data analytics.

This section below provides a summary of the taxonomy related services that the GCF is seeking to introduce. The purpose of this exercise is to familiarize the potential Vendors with the concept and solicit their feedback.

1. GCF stores information in different platforms, namely SharePoint, Drupal and other ad hoc applications and databases developed in house. It is GCF intention to implement a powerful, integrated, and user-friendly search engine that could help to easily retrieve information based on the taxonomy.

2. The number of documents and file archived constitutes a challenge for search but an opportunity for analysis. GCF intends to perform analysis and text mining based on the taxonomy to identify trends, patterns, and useful information to boost efficiency and effectiveness in delivering on its mandate.

3. The GCF taxonomy is a fundamental step in developing a system capable of search for specific thematic areas and automatically perform analysis.  The Fund is interested in exploring additional uses and technologies that could help to provide support in analyzing and classifying documents, report writing, and visualization. Furthermore, a glossary that can display concepts in their hierarchical order and respective definition is being developed.
