The Readiness support strengthens Caribbean Development Bank’s capacity to access and deliver climate finance by enhancing institutional frameworks, systems, and tools aligned with GCF standards, while building technical expertise to design and implement high-quality, multi-country programmes that integrate climate resilience, gender equality, and Indigenous Peoples’ engagement. It also improves coordination and stakeholder engagement, fostering collaboration with NDAs and promoting inclusive, participatory approaches, while embedding cross-cutting priorities such as environmental and social safeguards into project systems. In addition, the support advances pipeline development and implementation readiness by strengthening oversight, financial management, and monitoring functions.

These efforts are expected to result in a larger, more robust and inclusive project pipeline, stronger institutional capacity and compliance, and more effective stakeholder engagement, ultimately accelerating access to climate finance and enabling transformative, resilient, and sustainable development outcomes across the Caribbean.
