The Readiness support will strengthen Serbia’s capacity to mobilize, access and effectively use climate finance in support of its national climate priorities and the Paris Agreement. The project will enhance institutional coordination and the capacities of the National Designated Authority and other key stakeholders, establish an inclusive GCF Country Platform, strengthen climate investment planning and project pipelines, and improve the enabling environment for low-carbon and climate-resilient investment. It will also support the accreditation of Serbia’s first national Direct Access Entity, strengthen capacity to develop high-quality GCF concept notes and funding proposals, and promote knowledge sharing and regional cooperation across the Western Balkans, helping Serbia move towards a more systematic, country-owned and scalable approach to climate finance.
