The Readiness grant will support the development of a climate-resilient water investment pipeline in Chile, focused on preserving water resources and strengthening resilience to climate change impacts. The initiative will identify and prioritize interventions that maximize water savings and improve water security, with investment opportunities selected based on their potential to deliver the greatest water preservation benefits, technical feasibility, and ability to address existing regulatory and market constraints. Where relevant, emission reduction opportunities within the water sector will also be incorporated.

The grant aims to establish at least one investment line that addresses climate-induced water stress and mobilizes private sector financing for its implementation. It will also strengthen the capacity of Fundación Chile, government ministries, development agencies, and private sector partners to design and structure future climate-resilient water investments, creating a foundation for sustained mobilization of finance and long-term adaptation efforts in the water sector.
