Green Climate Fund strengthens ties with Italian partner for future climate action

The Green Climate Fund (GCF) and Cassa Depositi e Prestiti S.p.A. (CDP), an Italian public and private sector entity, took an important step forward this week towards jointly supporting low-carbon, climate-resilient societies in developing countries with the signing of an Accreditation Master Agreement (AMA). The agreement provides the foundation for future collaboration on transformative climate finance initiatives between GCF and CDP, which became a GCF Accredited Entity (AE), or project partner, in 2019. The AMA is a prerequisite for GCF to approve country-driven mitigation and adaptation projects proposed by AEs in partnership with developing countries.
