The meeting is the third of four Board meetings scheduled to take place this year and is the first in-person meeting to take place in the Republic of Korea since November 2019 on occasion of the 24th Board meeting. Besides considering funding proposals and accreditation proposals for approval, the four-day meeting will consider arrangements for the second replenishment of GCF’s programming period (GCF-2) for the formal decision to launch the replenishment, as well as discussions on policies related to programming.
Among the agenda items, other items for discussion include financing approaches for forests, Project Preparation Facility, Readiness Programme, approach on adaptation, and accreditation strategy. As well, there will be reports on activities by the Secretariat and independent units, and by the Board Co-Chairs and Board committees; and updates on the status of GCF resources, pipeline, and portfolio performance.
The four funding proposals under consideration include projects in Benin and Gambia, as well as two multi-country projects including countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, Asia and Africa.
Further details are available on GCF’s website.
The 24 GCF Board members and their alternates are drawn equally from developed and developing countries.
