Support for accreditation gap assessment and action plan to the Agrarian Credit Corporation JSC (ACC)

With the aim to attract the funding from the Green Climate Fund, nowadays the Company is working on the alluring the technical assistance from the Green Climate Fund, in particular from PriceWaterhouseCoopers. In this regard, a letter was sent to the Ministry of Energy, which is the National Designated Authority in Kazakhstan with the request to approve and nominate the technical assistance for the Company.

As part of the implementation of projects in the field of establishing of intensive gardens, the Company has approved and started financing of 12 projects totaling 7,369,510 thousand tenge (21 266 432,4 US dollars). This field provides for the establishment of intensive gardens with apples, nuts, cherries, etc. to be cultivated.
All funded gardens are intensive ones, they are equipped with a drip irrigation system. This system allows more efficient use of water resources and ensures accurate distribution of mineral fertilizer. In addition, within the framework of the implementation of projects in the field of construction and expansion of greenhouse complexes with the use of drip irrigation, the Company has approved and started financing of 15 projects for a total of 17,188,804 thousand tenge (49 602 285,5 US dollars), while 2 more large projects with the total amount of financing of 12,647,769 thousand tenge (36 498 074,5 US dollars) are under consideration. This field provides for the construction and expansion of greenhouses with vegetables and fruits to be cultivated.

For the purposes of the subsequent attraction of loans, guarantees and grants from the Green Climate Fund, the Company is currently working on the accreditation of the Company in the Green Climate Fund. Due to the lack of experience in the accreditation process in similar funds, and since the documentation and internal processes of the Company should be accordingly prepared for accreditation, the Company needs support in preparing for accreditation to the Green Climate Fund.

The technical assistance from the Green Climate Fund will help the Company to identify the current gaps, also the Company will be provided by the detailed information on the different accreditation options. In addition the detailed action plan for the successful accreditation will be developed.
