The Readiness support aims to strengthen the institutional capacity of EIF so it can better access, manage, and expand climate finance. Over a two-year period, it will focus on improving internal systems, policies, and staff capabilities, helping the organisation play a stronger role in supporting national climate priorities and delivering larger, more impactful initiatives. It responds to existing challenges that limit the organisation’s effectiveness, including outdated internal frameworks, limited technical expertise, and weak systems for oversight and planning. Building on recent assessments, it will address these gaps by improving organisational processes, enhancing staff skills, and supporting more coordinated and efficient operations, ultimately enabling the institution to operate more effectively as the country’s main vehicle for climate finance.
