The Readiness support aims to strengthen the country’s capacity to access forest-related climate finance by improving the quality and reliability of its REDD+ reporting and forest monitoring systems. Building on the DRC’s previous REDD+ results submissions, the project will support the preparation of an updated REDD+ Technical Annex, enhance national forest monitoring and data management systems, and strengthen institutional and technical capacities within the forest sector. By improving the transparency, consistency, and credibility of forest data and reporting processes, the initiative will help the DRC pursue future results-based climate finance opportunities, support implementation of its national climate and forest strategies, and reinforce its role in global forest conservation and emissions reduction efforts.
