Strategic Frameworks support for Ghana through UNEP and CTCN
The technical assistance aims to strengthen Ghana’s capability to have early warnings for droughts based on existing knowledge and capacity in the country. There is a system currently identified for Ghana but it needs to be further developed and validated for applications to local issues. The drought early warning system will increase the capacity of Ghana to respond to climate change and climate variability adaptation within the agriculture and water sectors. Building this capacity will facilitate future interventions that will have positive impacts on organizations and stakeholders, including local farmers, involved in dry season management. It should be noted that the outcomes of the support will be freely available for key organizations and ministries in Ghana (no fee or subscription attached to the outcomes).
