NDA strengthening support for Solomon Islands through SPREP

One of the gaps identified in the Solomon Islands National Climate Change and Disaster Risk Finance Assessment Report 2017 was the fact that climate finance directed to the NGO community is currently not captured/reported in the main government system (i.e. Oxfam, World Vision projects etc). The Report also identified significant human, policy and institutional gaps that Solomon Islands is facing in their effort for accessing GCF resources and other global climate funds. This proposal will help to address current gaps by strengthening the role of the NDA with the PMC to be based at MECDM and supporting the work of the new Climate Resilience Finance Unit, within the Ministry of Finance and Treasury, who will coordinate climate change finance reporting, including that with NGOs and donors, as well as supporting the delivery of this readiness program as the proposed Delivery Partner.
