The current Readiness project establishes a robust foundation to facilitate stakeholder engagement in GCFrelated activities in Indonesia. Although Indonesia is working on several projects with the GCF, some relevant Indonesian stakeholders are not yet fully informed about the GCF. For example, there are still incorrect assumptions among stakeholders about GCF funding requirements and opportunities, which hinder the development of a project pipeline. Additional consultation workshops and guidelines, such as a framework for climate change projects and guidelines for integrating gender perspective into climate finance policies and programs, will improve stakeholders’ understanding of GCF activities and climate finance opportunities in Indonesia. Moreover, clearer understanding of the definition of GCF climate change projects, funding windows and social and gender safeguards among stakeholders will help improve the quality project concept notes.
