Overview
In 2018, the DBSA as an accredited entity (AE) submitted a PPF request to the GCF to design a “Waste Management Flagship Programme for South Africa”. The Waste Management Flagship Programme is one of the eight “Near–term priority flagship programmes” outlined in South Africa’s National Climate Change Response Policy. The purpose of the Programme was to implement organic waste treatment solutions identified in six pilot municipalities and thereafter upscale implementation to twenty-four additional municipalities through a programmatic approach.
