Brazil already has elements to access GCF in an organized fashion that is also aligned with the national strategy for dealing with climate change. Readiness support is the next step to foster all three entities’ towards GCF’s specific requirements, allowing them to meet their accreditation conditions and developing capacities for a faster proposal development and delivering of transformative changes in climate change mitigation and adaptation. The readiness support will also enhance the understanding of the private sector and civil society on how to collaborate with the DAE´s to deliver successful GCF proposals, during the development of the entities work programs and the outreach that will be possible.

Finally, the readiness proposal joined all three Brazilian DAE´s in the capacity-building process of working with the GCF, allowing cross-entity learning as well as addressing individual learning from consultants. Although costs are higher than average for single entity readiness support, it is an efficient, effective and knowledge sharing proposal by nature.
