Development of capacity to implement a national climate change plan and strategy in Timor-Leste

The proposed Readiness Support project will contribute to addressing these shortcomings by enhancing the ability of the country to access climate finance, develop capacities of personnel in government departments to identify priority mitigation and adaptation needs and design, implement, monitor, and report on appropriate projects; raise awareness and understanding of local communities to climate related threats and suitable mitigation actions in order to engage them as partners in climate action; and develop a framework for action through development of a national climate change policy and action plan.
