This readiness proposal is aimed at increasing the capacity and autonomy of the NDA to coordinate stakeholders in the government and non-government sectors and at the island and national level and to build capacities nationally to design, review and approve of GCF investments in an expedited and effective way, both for adaptation and greenhouse gas emissions mitigation projects. Though the readiness proposal is primarily aimed to deliver outcomes in Activities 1 and 2 of the Readiness Programme, it is expected that, in the process of consultation and capacity strengthening, national accredited entities will be identified, in this way reaching Activity 3, and the private sector will be mobilised, reaching Activity 5. The outcome of the various trainings and consultations will produce two concept outlines (one each for mitigation and adaptation) which will, in addition, reach Activity 4.
