Building capacity of NDA and key stakeholders to identify climate change related risks in the water sector in Jordan

This proposal aims to address critical gaps in capacities of the NDA and key stakeholders to collect, analyse and understand risks linked to climate change on water resources and exacerbated impacts on the most vulnerable populations. By strengthening these capacities, it will support the government's efforts in developing easily accessible, comprehensive and robust information leading to improved rationale for climate projects. This will also enhance vertical and horizontal coordination for climate change adaptation planning between government institutions and key stakeholders by facilitating the mainstreaming of climate risks on water resources at sectoral and subnational levels. Critical to ensuring the long-term climate resilience of Jordan is the ability to understand and project the changing risks and impacts of climate change on water resources, and, consequently, on vulnerable populations. Understanding and mitigating these climate risks first requires reliable and comprehensive climate change projections across Jordan.
