Building capacity to advance the National Adaptation Planning Process in Cameroon

The project outcomes will collectively reduce the population of Cameroon’s vulnerability to the impacts of climate change while building its adaptive capacity in a gender-responsive and socially inclusive manner. Beneficiaries of the project will include national- and local-level government, non-governmental organisations, civil society organisations, private sector actors, academia and local communities. The most vulnerable groups, sectors and agro-ecological zones will be prioritised, according to the NAPCC and knowledge generated under the proposed project. By integrating CCA into new and existing national and sectoral policies, plans and strategies, the NAP process will also promote long-term sustainability of adaptation measures. Furthermore, existing institutional structures, coordination procedures and financial mechanisms will be strengthened to build on the progress already achieved by the GoC.
