Overview
Through this application, the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) is requesting financial resources from the GCF Project Preparation Facility (PPF) to develop a full funding proposal and all necessary annexes for the BlueCo Caribbean Umbrella Coordination Programme (hereafter referred to as “the programme”). The programme aims to lay the foundation and create a momentum for catalysing finance at scale to enable a low-emission, climate-resilient regional blue economy for Caribbean SIDS1 through a long-term project pipeline. It will achieve this through the establishment of one regional framework and either standalone or multi-country frameworks (depending on participant country needs), a regional coordination mechanism, and the implementation of transformative projects that can be scaled up and replicated across the region. The programme will lay the foundation for attracting transformative, sustainable finance to implement a coordinated approach for the blue economy across the region.
