The proposed Project Preparation Facility (PPF) support will enable the development of a full Green Climate Fund (GCF) funding proposal aimed at strengthening climate mitigation and adaptation planning and implementation across the Amazon region. The project preparation activities will address critical technical, environmental, social, gender, and stakeholder engagement gaps required to develop a robust and investment-ready proposal aligned with GCF requirements.
PPF resources will finance pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, project design, environmental and social assessments, Indigenous Peoples consultations, gender analysis, stakeholder engagement processes, and climate rationale and carbon mitigation assessments. The support will also facilitate coordination with stakeholders across the nine Amazon states to ensure that the proposed interventions are technically sound, socially inclusive, environmentally sustainable, and country-driven.
The requested support will contribute to the preparation of key studies and strategic documents, including feasibility assessments, environmental and social safeguard instruments, Indigenous Peoples and gender-related analyses, stakeholder engagement plans, and climate impact assessments. These activities will provide the analytical basis necessary for the development of a high-quality GCF funding proposal with strong mitigation and adaptation outcomes and long-term transformational impact.
