The program objective is to change the trend of deforestation rate in priority areas in de Brazilian Amazon accordingly with the country NDC. Deforestation is the main source of GHG emissions in Brazil and had an increase in recent years. The program will be coordinated by a Consortium composed of all 9 subnational States of the region and will have multiple executors. Implementation will focus on strengthening regional public capabilities for law enforcement and creating an enabling environment for legal and sustainable business fostering a harder environment for illegal business and create legal economic and sustainable perspective to communities and landowners in the region.
