Restoring vital ecosystems and water sources in the Dry Corridor Forest, El Salvador

21 Mar 2024 / The Dry Corridor is a vast expanse of tropical, dry forest that spans six countries in Central America. It is home to 11.5 million rural people who depend on agriculture for their livelihoods. Unfortunately, the region is highly vulnerable to climate change due to erratic rainfall patterns, deforestation, and land degradation.

GCF and IDB agreements to help SMEs in Latin America invest in energy efficiency

15 Oct 2018 / To expand the impact of GCF-funding and empower locally driven climate actions, a pioneering collaboration between the Government of Germany, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), UN Environment and the World Resource Institute (WRI), supported nine countries to put systems in place to understand and engage effectively with the Green Climate Fund and to systematically address overall climate finance gaps and opportunities.
