The Moroccan Agency for Sustainable Energy S.A., known as Masen, is a national direct access entity and a  state-owned limited company based in Morocco. Masen plays a pivotal role in fostering a competitive renewable energy sector in Morocco by spearheading development programs for integrated renewable energy projects, focusing on solar, wind, and hydro technologies, alongside emerging technologies like green hydrogen. The agency is dedicated to the development and implementation of national renewable energy projects, emphasizing the optimal utilization of renewable resources at national, regional, and international levels.

As the key entity managing renewable energy in Morocco, Masen leads development programs with the goal of adding 3,000 MW of clean electricity generation capacity by 2020 and an additional 6,000 MW by 2030. The overarching objective is to secure 52% of the country's energy mix from renewable sources by 2030.

Masen, committed to maximizing the use of renewable resources, transforms natural power into progress. The integrated model devised by Masen aims to establish self-sustaining and financially viable ecosystems. Beyond electricity generation, Masen acts as a catalyst for a competitive economic network, utilizing existing skills efficiently and fostering the development of new ones. With GCF financing, Masen intends to undertake the following projects: solar project Noor PV II, aiming to produce electricity from solar photovoltaics (PV), with an aggregate capacity of 800 to 1000 MW spread out in several solar PV power plants; hybrid projects, consisting of a renewable (solar and/or wind) plants with storage (electrical, thermal or hydro); as well as several wind projects under development.
