The Development Bank of Nigeria Plc (DBN) is a national direct access entity based in Nigeria, headquartered in Abuja with a liaison office in Lagos, DBN collaborates with MSMEs across Nigeria to foster economic growth and environmental sustainability. DBN was established by the Federal Government of Nigeria in collaboration with global development partners, DBN addresses financing challenges faced by micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in Nigeria. DBN provides financing and partial credit guarantees to eligible financial intermediaries, supporting MSMEs in executing climate-resilient and green projects. The bank's mission is to alleviate financing constraints, promote sustainable development, and support the green transition in Nigeria.

DBN's efforts align with GCF's objectives to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to climate change impacts, ensuring a resilient and sustainable future for Nigeria. DBN works closely with the GCF to advance climate finance initiatives, focusing on energy generation and access, transport, health, food and water security, and infrastructure. By partnering with GCF, DBN enhances its capacity to develop and implement projects that contribute to Nigeria's climate goals and sustainable development.
