The Community Development and Investment Agency of the Kyrgyz Republic (ARIS) is a national direct access entity based in Kyrgyzstan. ARIS is a state-owned investment agency that has been attracting investments for poverty reduction, developing and supporting private entrepreneurship, increasing employment and income levels of rural residents, improving rural infrastructure, and strengthening decision-making skills of local communities in the context of climate change conditions for 20 years. ARIS aims to increase the capacity of vulnerable communities and provides assistance in the process of adaptation to climate change.

With GCF, ARIS aims to work on: (a) advancing development and use of solar energy, wind energy, biogas plants, and other renewable energy sources, reducing energy consumption for the cooling and heating of buildings and facilities; facilitating access to inexpensive, efficient and environmentally friendly technologies for heating and cooling, energy supply, etc., rehabilitation, restoration and expansion of existing rural water supply and water saving systems or construction of new systems, use of modern technologies for the treatment and disinfection of wastewater and household waste, and improving preparedness for natural disasters.
