Overview

The JSC Georgian Energy Development Fund (GEDF) is a public national energy fund based in Tbilisi, Georgia, with a mandate to attract investments, promote renewable energy, and support green technology implementation. GEDF operates nationwide through affiliates and joint ventures, partnering with public and private sectors at the national, regional and international levels in supporting hydropower, solar, wind, and emerging technologies such as green hydrogen.

Aligned with Georgia’s national energy and climate policies, GEDF supports the implementation of the Integrated National Energy and Climate Plan by developing and financing clean energy initiatives. Through its partnership with the GCF, GEDF aims to mobilize climate finance and leverage private investment to advance low-emission, climate-resilient development, particularly in renewable energy sectors such as solar, energy efficiency, green hydrogen, and biomass.
