HSBC sought accreditation to the GCF in order to share its experience and skills to assess the risks associated with infrastructure investment opportunities, as well as to act as an educator, via its climate change centre, offering a dedicated research capability focusing on the investment implications of climate change. HSBC offers to arrange and finance public and private partnerships projects in developing countries and work with local and regional banks on infrastructure and project financing, sharing its expertise and experience and building its skills base.
