Banco Promerica is a private commercial bank based in San José, Costa Rica, with 20 branches and 2 kiosks nationwide, and is part of Promerica Financial Corporation, a regional group operating in nine countries across Latin America and the Caribbean.

The bank’s mission is to  provide inclusive financial products and services that empower Costa Rican communities and support them in overcoming their limitations, whether cultural, economic, personal or geographical. Since 2015, Banco Promerica has implemented a sustainability strategy aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, the Paris Agreement, the Net Zero Banking Alliance (signatory since 2021), and the Principles for Responsible Banking.

In partnership with GCF, Banco Promerica plans to expand its electric mobility financing and support climate-resilient housing and waste management programmes.
