On 15 July 2019, the Green Climate Fund will be hosting an event on the Fund’s role in supporting the implementation of the Paris Agreement and the operationalisation of developing countries’ Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs). Taking place in New York, the event is part of the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development.

The high-level event will bring together high-level representatives from governments, GCF accredited entities, UN agencies, financial institutions, private sector and civil society. The event will include panel discussions, which will be followed by an interactive Q&A session.

Panelists will discuss the role of GCF in identifying key areas to mobilise action, resources, and investments to better serve the climate agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). They will explore the GCF’s key priorities in accelerating climate finance to match the ambition and urgency demanded by the goals of the Paris Agreement and to maximise synergies with the SDGs.
