The Governing Instrument for the Green Climate Fund sets out its mandate and working methods, and was approved by the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) at its seventeenth session on 11 December 2011 in Durban, South Africa, and is annexed to decision 3/CP.17 presented in UNFCCC document FCCC/CP/2011/9/Add.1
