This document presents an overview of a gender assessment across Nigeria, with a focus on Northern Nigeria and the States in which the sub-projects are located. Challenges to mainstreaming gender considerations into sub-projects are identified and discussed in detail. A summary of stakeholder consultations undertaken during the preparation of this document is presented, including a list of the potential stakeholder institutions and key actions considered influential in the consideration of gender aspects within each of the focus States.
