GCF Water Project Design Guidelines - Part 2

GCF Water Project Design Guidelines

Part 2: Applications of the practical guidelines for designing water-climate resilient projects in IWRM, CR-WASH, and drought and flood management

The GCF Water Project Design Guidelines provide a structured and programmatic approach to developing climate-resilient water projects. For water security projects for climate resilience, GCF uses innovative financing mechanisms to cover key domains such as water conservation, efficiency and reuse, hydrological observation, early warning and risk assessment, integrated water management and SDG-6, ecosystem-based adaptation, and climate-resilient WASH.

Part 2 of the guidelines explores practical applications of climate-resilient water project design in Integrated Water Resource Management (IWRM), Climate Resilient WASH (CR-WASH), Drought Management, and Flood Management.  This comprehensive guide, developed by the Green Climate Fund (GCF) in collaboration with Deltares, provides practical guidelines and actionable insights for designing projects that address climate change impacts, promote sustainability, and enhance resilience. Tailored recommendations for Small Island Developing States (SIDS) are included to address their unique challenges.
