The $50 million FALAH project seeks to build a climate-resilient agri-food system in Jordan’s Northern Governorates through an integrated market-systems development approach. It will directly benefit 23,530 individuals by: (i) equipping 18,590 farmers with climate-smart practices and water-efficient technologies such as responsive drip irrigation; (ii) restoring 130 hectares of degraded rangelands through community-led Hima grazing systems for 2,420 pastoralists; and (iii) strengthening market systems by expanding access to finance for 480 MSMEs/cooperatives and piloting takaful insurance for 4,000 producers. Led by CVDB as the Accredited Entity, with World Food Programme as lead Executing Entity and Ministry of Agriculture and Agriculture Credit Corporation as partners, the project blends $25 million in GCF financing ($15.5M grant and $9.5M loan) with $25 million in co-financing to catalyze a paradigm shift from fragmented agricultural practices to an interconnected, resilient system that enhances food and water security while supporting inclusive, climate-resilient livelihoods.
