This PPF request supports the preparation of a fully compliant GCF Funding Proposal for the Climate-resilient Watersheds and Communities through Nature-based Solutions and Innovative Financing in the Dominican Republic (CReW-DR), the first national GCF project for the country. The CReW-DR project addresses critical climate vulnerabilities in the Yaque del Norte watershed and the coastal municipality of Miches through nature-based solutions and innovative financing mechanisms. TNC will provide approximately 27% of the total preparation budget as co-financing. The nine PPF activities are:
- NbS feasibility studies and participatory climate risk and vulnerability assessments
- Environmental and Social Safeguards documentation (ESMF, GRM, LMP, SEAH protocols)
- Gender analysis, Gender Assessment and Gender Action Plan (GAP)
- Stakeholder engagement and consultations, including Stakeholder Engagement Plan (SEP)
- Comprehensive risk assessments and Risk Management Plan
- Financial structuring, loan pricing, economic and financial analysis (EFA)
- Monitoring and Evaluation Plan and Theory of Change
- Detailed budget plan, implementation timetable, and procurement plan
- Integration of all technical inputs into the complete GCF Funding Proposal Package All activities will be completed within 12 months, with a 6-month period for GCF Secretariat and ITAP review support.
