The Board, having considered limited distribution document GCF/BM-2026/08 titled “Matters related to the selection of the Head of the Independent Redress Mechanism”:

  1. Takes note, and accepts the resignation of, Ms. Sonja Derkum, as Head of the Independent Redress Mechanism, effective from 30 November 2026;
  2. Requests the Co-Chairs, in consultation with the Ethics and Audit Committee, to consider appropriate candidates for the role of Head of the Independent Redress Mechanism ad interim, and to make a recommendation to the Board no later than the Board’s forty-sixth meeting; and
  3. Also requests the Co-Chairs, in consultation with the Ethics and Audit Committee, to prepare for consideration by the Board at its forty-sixth meeting:
    1. Terms of reference for the selection process for the Head of the Independent Redress Mechanism, including applicable timeframes; and
    2. A review of the Terms of Reference for the Head of the Independent Redress Mechanism, including any recommended amendments, for consideration by the Board.
