The Board, having considered document GCF/B.45/17 titled “Updated Gender Action Plan for the GCF 2026–2031” and its addendum Add.01:
- Welcomes the progress made in implementing the Gender Action Plan for the updated Strategic Plan for the GCF 2020–2023, as set out in document GCF/B.45/17;
- Adopts the Gender Action Plan 2026–2031, as contained in annex II, noting that its implementation is subject to the availability of administrative budget, which will be integrated within the multi-year budgeting process;
- Requests the Secretariat to implement the Gender Action Plan 2026–2031, including by developing, where not yet established, baselines and targets for the indicators set out in annex II; to report on progress through existing reporting mechanisms to the Board and to the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change; and to share the results of the midterm and final assessments of the implementation of the Gender Action Plan with the Board;
- Encourages national designated authorities, and accredited entities in coordination with national designated authorities, to engage national gender and climate change focal points to assess readiness and preparatory support programmes, project preparation support, funding proposals and funded activities, with the aim of ensuring that these assessments actively promote a gender-responsive approach across the GCF portfolio; and
- Requests the Secretariat to integrate into the development process for the updated Strategic Plan for the GCF 2028–2031, and the further development of the Readiness and Preparatory Support Programme and the Project Preparation Facility, relevant actions from the Gender Action Plan 2026–2031 and the associated resources required.
