Hannah J. Lyons brings over 15 years of experience in climate diplomacy and leading complex teams. She most recently served as Deputy Chief of Staff to U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for Climate, John Kerry, at the U.S. Department of State, where, among other roles, she led strategic planning and operations for the U.S. government's delegation to the COPs.
Hannah has previously held roles on the climate team as a negotiator, communications advisor, Small Island Developing States lead, and advisor on climate change issues at the UN in New York and in other multilateral fora.
Prior to joining the climate team, Hannah worked in the Bureau of Public Affairs, primarily focused on environmental issues. She holds a Master of Arts in Public Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Auburn University.
