Last year at its 42nd meeting, the GCF Board approved the Revised Accreditation Framework (RAF) as part of a comprehensive set of reforms to improve GCF’s accreditation model.  

Aiming to make the GCF accreditation framework more fit for purpose, transparent, responsive, and efficient—while strengthening fairness and country ownership—the RAF opens new opportunities for enhanced collaboration between Indigenous Peoples and the GCF. The revised procedure represents a concrete step toward expanding direct access to climate finance by offering more appropriate conditions for Indigenous Peoples’ Organizations (IPOs) to seek accreditation as GCF Accredited Entities. In line with GCF strategic guidance and principles, the Secretariat will apply the RAF to prioritize accreditation applications from entities capable of designing and implementing locally led adaptation approaches that target climate-vulnerable groups, including Indigenous Peoples. 

The objective of this event is to present the RAF—its benefits, eligibility conditions, and procedures— to IPOs interested in becoming Accredited Entities to the GCF. The event will take the form of an interactive discussion, open to IP organizations, representatives, and funds.
