Project agreements were signed for 12 newly approved projects on the margins of the Green Climate Fund’s 43rd Board meeting (B.43), where a record volume of climate financing was approved.  

Of the 22 projects approved, agreements for 12 projects were immediately signed between GCF and Accredited Entity partners at a signing ceremony on 30 October, marking the most project agreements signed at a single meeting to date. Three projects are expected to receive their first disbursement shortly after the agreements are signed.

Following project approval, the project agreement, known as the Funded Activity Agreement (FAA), must be signed by GCF and the AE partner before implementation begins. As part of the Fund’s reform agenda for improved efficiency and impact, GCF has been expediting the FAA process, among other processes, to deliver climate finance more quickly to communities.

In particular, three first-time Direct Access Entities advanced through the fast-track process for projects in Cambodia, Armenia, and Brazil, reflecting GCF’s commitment to accelerating access for new partners. 

B.43, which took place in Songdo, Incheon, Republic of Korea, from 27 to 30 October 2025, set a new record for the Fund with the approval of USD 1.332 billion for 22 projects, bringing the year’s total to USD 3.26 billion. GCF’s portfolio currently comprises 336 projects amounting to USD 19.3 billion in GCF resources, and USD 78.7 billion when expected co-financing is included.

These milestones emphasise the Fund’s commitment to deliver support to developing countries as it heads to COP30 in Belem, Brazil.

The 12 projects are as follows:

• SAP055: Strengthening the Health Resilience of Communities Vulnerable to Climate Change in Benin’s ABD (Adjohoun, Bonou and Dangbo) Zone with National Fund for Environment and Climate (FNEC) of Benin 
• SAP056: Climate Resilience in the Guiriko Region with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH 
• SAP057: Y4SF - Adolescents and Youth for a Sustainable Future: strengthening climate change adaptation and community resilience through green jobs in Zimbabwe with Save the Children Australia  
• SAP058: Local Governments and Climate Change III (LGCC-3) with National Committee for Sub-National Democratic Development (NCDD)
• SAP059: Fueling Green Recovery in Armenia – advancing forest infrastructure and creating sustainable jobs for rural communities with Environmental Project Implementation Unit of the State Agency of the Ministry of Nature Protection of the Republic of Armenia (EPIU) 
• SAP060: Promoting Climate Resilient Livelihoods for Food Insecure People in Southern Iraq with World Food Programme
• SAP061: Mitigation and adaptation to climate change under agroforestry systems in cocoa production in the Amazon and Atlantic Forest biomes with Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA)
• SAP062: Dominica Community Resilience Enhancement Project (DOMCREP) with Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre (CCCCC) 
• FP279: Enhancing Climate Resilience in Flood-Prone Areas in Northwestern South Sudan (ECRF) with World Food Programme  
• FP280: Uganda REDD+ RBP for results period 2016 – 2017 with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO)
• FP281: Direct Financing for Communities and Businesses to Respond to Climate Change in the Cook Islands with the Ministry of Finance and Economic Management (MFEM) of the Cook Islands
