The Independent Integrity Unit (IIU) of the Green Climate Fund will host the 19th Conference of International Investigators (CII) from 8 to 12 October 2018 at Songdo Convensia, Incheon, Republic of Korea. This year's conference is set to be a milestone – marking the very first time the CII has been organised in the Asia and the Pacific, making GCF the inaugural conference host in the region.

IIU was mandated by the GCF Board to participate in the global network of comparator units of other international organisations, and ensure that the IIU is at the frontier of relevant international practice. As part of this mandate, IIU became a member of the United Nations Representatives of Investigative Offices (UN-RIS) and the CII in 2017.

The CII is a community of professional bodies discussing integrity issues, sharing leading practices, and addressing global challenges in the fight against fraud and corruption. The annual conferences aim to promote collegiality and close cooperation among these investigative offices, facilitate the exchange of information, provide a platform for hands-on training, and socialise latest developments in the field.

The 19th CII will be attended by around 150 participants from 49 renowned member organisations within the United Nations system, multilateral development banks, and government agencies, many of whom are GCF accredited entities. As the CII is a closed community, attendance at the conference is limited to staff of investigative offices that are members of the network.

In line with efforts to make the 19th CII a green conference, all conference sessions and associated social events will be free from the use of paper and plastic items. The values of the GCF will be promoted in the choice of themes as well as in the conduct of proceedings.
