Douglas Leys takes over as GCF’s new top legal advisorSongdo,
Mr Leys has taken up this post after moving from his previous role as the Government of Jamaica's Solicitor General.
He comes to GCF with a wealth of experience in legal affairs, including tenure as General Counsel of the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB). He holds the rank of Queen's Counsel, a position reserved for persons who have distinguished themselves at the bar in the Commonwealth.
Mr Leys' broad experience in commercial law includes acting as the CDB lead advisor in providing legal assistance to Dominica and Grenada in restructuring their international and regional debt obligations.
In his new role at GCF, Mr Leys will provide legal advice to GCF Executive Director Howard Bamsey and the GCF Board. He replaces Raul Herrera, who has been working with the GCF in an interim position.
